Part Time PR Manager

What you'll do:

The Marketing function at Friday works with all disciplines throughout the agency on a range of projects. You will be working closely with the Marketing Manager and Business Development Manager to increase the awareness of Friday within different industries but also aid the attraction of new business.  With agreement from the team, you will own the PR strategy and implement this, making sure that all projects are successfully delivered and reported on.

About the role:

With the help of the Marketing team, you will;

  • You will gauge a detailed understanding of the Marketing objectives at Friday and how you are able to compliment the team to achieve these objectives.
  • You will collaborate with all the disciplines to aid delivery of projects.
  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of the PR strategy
  • Manage the day-to-day PR activity, both proactive and reactive, including press release writing, sourcing feature opportunities, profile building and drafting opinion pieces.
  • Build and maintain strong media relations. This includes dealing with incoming media queries and proactively arranging journalist meetings, interviews and briefings.
  • Manage the annual events calendar. Liaise with event organisers to secure speaker opportunities at leading industry events. Flag any conferences that it may be worth attending and manage staff attendance.
  • Provide PR support for any events organised by Friday.
  • Manage the annual awards calendar. Secure judging slots on leading industry awards juries.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager and New Business Manager to maximise any news that is generated and to ensure messages are aligned.
  • Measure and evaluate PR activity against the objectives set out in the PR strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships (internal and external)
  • Great written skills and attention to detail
  • Well organised and able to have numerous ongoing projects
  • Existing relationships with numerous publications
  • Experience working with Confluence and JIRA
  • Experience in a similar role within an agency

This is a part time role (2 days per week) initially for a 3 month contact. The role might be suitable for candidates looking for part time work or a small PR agency who are looking to add their client portfolio.
